Naval "Trenchart"
Naval "Trenchart", or just plain Trenchart. was first termed during WWI when the combatants on both sides literally spent hours, days, and weeks sitting in the muddy trenches facing each other just waiting for something to happen. During this period of apprehensively waiting their fate they looked for things to do to take their minds off of the pending doom and their dismal surroundings. One of those things was to objects tossed away during battle which they found laying around on the ground and turn them into something fantastic and artful.
Hence the term "trenchart" was formed forever more to denote something made by a cunning or artistic individual in the military with a lot of time on their hands who turned something made for war into something much different. Think of making guns and swords into plowshares and butter churns!
Much of the "trenchart" was typically made from spent bullets, shells, or some other piece of military gear.
Here we have "naval trenchart" made by sailors from items they found aboard ship as well as fantastic bracelets made from regulation US Navy silverplated dinnerware typically found in the Officers Mess which were re-worked by The Pirate's Lair!
