Officer's Mess, Fouled Anchor w USN Insignia, Limited Edition
This unique Limited Edition pattern using the "Fouled Anchor" above the letters "USN" as the topmark, and was only produced for a short duration between the late 1940s and the early 1950s. It was first thought to replace the traditional Wardroom Officers Mess which consisted only of a Fouled Anchor sans the USN.
Not many of these pieces have survived over the years and are now mainly found in the Navy's Chief Petty Officer's Mess (or "Goat Locker") as this anchor/usn topmark resembles the Chief's insignia!!
